Fibre Optic

Etleimu regards Fibre Optic infrastructure with serious intent and has therefore    invested ample resources in establishing a Fibre Division.

We have thus engaged personnel with the requisite skills to offer the following blend of services.

1. Planning, design and execution of underground fiber optic infrastructure.
2. Splicing, testing of fiber as well as full quality control systems is in place. Two splicing machines available on a 24-hour basis.
3. Material procurement.
4. Building access-granting client access from existing metro infrastructure.
5. Design planning and execution of aerial fiber optic routes both adss and conventional method.
6. Proficient in armored, micro and overhead fibre.

SDH Projects

Synchronous Digital Hierarchy (SDH) is a multiplexing protocol for transferring multiple digital bit streams using lasers or light-emitting diodes (LEDs) over the same optical fiber. The method was developed to replace the Plesiochronous Digital Hierarchy (PDH) system for transporting larger amounts of telephone calls and data traffic over the same fiber wire without synchronization problems. SDH are based on circuit mode communication, meaning that each connection achieves a constant bit rate and delay. This system can carry anything from STM-1 to Fast Ethernet in a Network.

Etleimu Communications do SDH Turnkey installations for Telkom that involves site surveys, logistic support, infrastructure support, physical build, fault fining, optic fiber splicing, supply of DC power, system tests and commissioning.
